Today.......
I was looking at the blog tonight and said “hey say something already”! So here goes...lol. Gee...now what to say. Thinking...thinking....ok, when stumped, talk about the weather! First, exciting news! It's spring in 20 days! This is the part where you get involved and say yeeehawww! Good job.
Now spring isn't my favorite season, that's summer without a doubt, but I have to say that all the seasons have moments of awe.
Spring...
That first robin boldly looking for a worm even if the sky didn't get the memo to stop throwing snowflakes at us.
Summer...
Toasty sun, blue water and sand between my toes....awwweeeee.
Autumn...
Just breaking over the peak of a large hill to see a kaleidoscope of colors spread out before you.
Winter...
Looking out to see a sheet of white covering everything, the tree branches even sagging a little under the weight...beautiful.
I know in different parts of the country and world, the four seasons would be described completely different. One thing they all have in common, if you choose to look, you'll find something in each season that's worth smiling about.
In upstate NY we have some snowstorms that are downright nasty. Road conditions can be treacherous. Funny thing is, you can be out in this weather, thinking hard about how great it will be to get home, then suddenly you find someone stranded or wrecked and before you know it, your stopped and lending a hand. You’re taking the time and taking on the discomfort to help a total stranger, and you know what, it always feels good. When all is said and done and you’re finally on your way back home, you feel a sense of purpose, a sense of accomplishment, a sense of pride that you were able in some way to lend a helping hand to another.
Right now I'm realizing that people are like the weather. We have happy, grumpy, sad, dopey (sounds like a bunch of dwarfs I know). And those people all have good days and stormy days. And like the seasons, if we choose to look, we'll find something in each person that's worth smiling about. Wow...my eyes are opened.
So signing off I'll say thank you. Thank you for each moment you each take to put another first. To love another more. To help even a total stranger in need.
See you on the beach!
