Stitches in life

So I'm sitting here sewing some items that needed mending. As I do each stitch I realized the parallel to life. (Yeah leave it to me right...lol.)

I don't know how many of you have sewn by hand, but I can see where I'm placing my needle on top. Know exactly where it is going to go through, know just what I want to happen....then there's the bottom stitch. I can't see from the bottom, so my stitch is based on feelings and assumptions. Eeeeek!

Now I could probably stop writing here because you think you know all I'm going to say, but are you sure???

The obvious conclusion is that in life, we sometimes (and sometimes way more than we should) work off feelings and assumptions. It doesn't always turn out good, but it doesn't always turn out bad either. I have another thought though.....

When sewing by hand there is one thing you have to take into consideration whether you're a skilled seamstress or novice. At some point, you're gonna stick yourself with the needle! OUCH!

Now you may be saying "ok Anita, get to the point already" (hahaha pun intended). Well my point is that in life, sometimes we are the cause of our pain....BUT....just because it hurt, doesn't mean we weren't doing the right thing.

I mean what am I supposed to do, throw everything away if it gets the tiniest tear or looses a button. Of course not. Some things are worth saving.

Are there things in your life that need mending?

Accepting that you may get hurt in the process shouldn't make you shy away from doing what needs to be done. Just the opposite, it should show you it's something worth saving.
