Did you ever have to sign a form with one of those "sign here" stickers on it? I have. It's funny how you can sign your name a thousand times, but something about those little stickies makes the form it's attached to seem so much more important.
So here's what I want to know, why don't we always take our signature that seriously? Is it more important when we sign our name to a loan document than to a remembrance book at a loved ones wake? How about signing our college forms compared to a love letter to our spouse? Should your signature be more important on your Last Will and Testament or on the hand written note your child finds tucked away years after your gone and reads with tear filled eyes but he so glad they have the last salutation.....Love, (your name)?
The truth is your name is important. Why because you are important. And your name is what YOU make it.
People don't have a choice in the family they are born into or the family name they receive. What they do have is the opportunity to live up to and exceed the expectations of that name.
Lots of us don't like labels. We don't want to be labeled by appearance, religion, race, education, etc. and yet we are labeled moments after birth. So what are you gonna do? Are you going to make your name count; not for your benefit, but for the example and benefit of others. Or are you going to make excuses and lie to yourself and say I can't do any better or no one expect anymore from me?
So, what ARE you gonna do?
